Farewell My Sloppy Plate of Palter The better part of this passing month saw me designing, launching, tweaking and re-tweaking my website, ARShondrick.com. While I am sure I will continue to find pixels on it to shove around, I am really happy with the results of my time spent.
The site is now powered by a Wordpress core and is therefore blog-centric. This was important to me as it will make updating the site as easy as updating this journal. That being said, in a ubiquity social sites and blogs, I have too many, and while LJ is the best -- my first and favorite -- its time with me seems to be at an end. I won't be deleting it, but I won't be updating it either.
I've made some friends here over the years and if any of you are still out there please check out my new site and follow the RSS Feed. You can still comment here or email me as you please.
Thanks for eight years of fun, poor diction, embarrassment and pure rock 'n roll Live Journal!
Regards, Andrew R Shondrick

This is a skateboard deck I painted earlier this week for the Artificial Gallery's "Deck the Halls" group show here in Lakewood. Titled "Basking in the Valey of Midnight Convenience," it's a pretty simple -- quick drawing but I think I had some really beautiful painting in it. The show opens in one week on Saturday the 28th 6-9pm. I'll repost when they get the show online.
Also, forgive my usage of the classic "new Mac App" presentation above. It was either that or skate deck in ( Happy, Happy, Sun Shiny Ville. ) |

This is the newest work for my current show at the Low Life Gallery. The opening last Friday was a boat load of fun and I would like to thank anyone who came out. There are a couple limited edition prints for the show that might make their way online soon. I'll keep you posted if they do.
Also I should have a piece in the Artificial Galleries "Deck the Halls" exhibit opening at the end of the month if anyone is around Lakewood. I'm going to go work on that now. See ya'. |

I spent the past few days building frames and varnishing. Everything looks really great so now I Just need to make a couple more before the show next month. The plan was to get back into the oils today but I got lazy as hell after the Browns game. [Go Browns] I cleaned up a bit, but little more so I'm photoshopping and filling out this entry so I feel like I've accomplished something. I'll definitely paint tomorrow. Promise. |

New Show
I have a new show coming up next month. It's split with my friend Adam H. Hoskins at the Low Life Gallery here in Cleveland.
The opening in on Friday Nov. 6th from 6-10pm. The show runs through the 27th which gives all you people coming back home for turkey on Thanksgiving a chance to see it.
I'm super psyched about the new work I've been making and hope to see you all there.
PS. Anybody who wants me to send them a card via postal mail give me you address at andrew(at)arshondrick(dot)com |

For all you artists and other creative people, Mark Murphy and some other people you've probably read about in High Fructose magazine have recently launched a networking site for creatives called:

That's a link to my page on it. You should join too and if you do hit me up for an alliance ... because you're all wonderful you know... |

12"x12" oil on panel. After my little LP art side-stepping, this is another piece for my coming show at the Low Life Gallery in Nov, (it's creeping closer don't you know). I'm still secretly debating the title, so like, don't tell anyone. And for those of you who haven't caught word yet, Low Life snagged a pile of pages in the recent edition of London Street Art-Design magazine who then consequently featured some of my older work. Take a look. |

Check it out. Shoparooni is listing all the paintings and else wise arted up vinyl at their online store. Those of you who didn't make it to the opening can check out the unsold pieces on line. I still have one of my paintings there, (fancy, fancy)! They will be listing all fifty some that they have left tonight; these are two of my favorites so far by the artist Steve Ehret and Esther Loopstra. Note Esther's "Veruca Salt" reference. Awesome. |

This is a photo of my stuff at the "Straight from the Crate" opening last night. The blue bear painting sold so if you missed it, you missed it, but I think the yellow one is still available and on view. Thanks to those who came out. The show runs for another month for those of you who couldn't make it.

Here's part of the second painting I will have at Shoparooni tomorrow night (Friday the 26th).
Sorry, I still don't have a real photo of it. |

"Straight From the Crate" Art Show Yo! I'm going to have one or two pieces, (depending on whether I make the second one) in the "Straight from the Crate" show opening at Shoparooni this Friday in Cleveland.
It's curated by a guy from American Greetings so it will have a lot of their artists participating as well as the rest of the Cleveland rif-raf. The show is themed around vinyl records, so everything will be made on or out of them.
I'm painting on the sleeve rather than the wax, I'm not sure what anyone else is doing.
Chris stole my camera for the weekend so I could only get a picture of it with the Photobooth application on my computer:
"Don't You Think It's Sometimes Wise Not to Grow Up."
It's painting on the Rolling Stones' "Goats Head Soup" album and takes it's name from one of the lyrics on the album.
It's mounted on a four inch deep box/frame like the rest of my recent paintings and will be $200 through the gallery if you're interested.( .... ) |

Never Remembered By Many Were We Beneath the Sea
So this is what became of the painting. I titled it "Never Remembered By Many Were We Beneath the Sea."
The titles I choose always have some kind of phonetic scheme to theme -- a rhythmic quality if nothing else. I couldn't tell you what it is; I just know when it feels right to me. This one feels like a tongue-twister when you try to type it out.
I should also point out that this and "Never For Fear Of Exploding, We'd Watch the World Turn" are the first new paintings for a spit show I will be having with my Friend Adam at the Low Life Gallery in Cleveland this coming November. |

Purple is hard.
I took a couple days off, but I got back into it yesterday. Nearing a finish here. I think I'll need about two more days to finish the lady and add more highlights to the water. |

new This the humble beginning of what will be my newest painting.
I am going to try to start it by week's end, and when I do, I will post day by day updates here because ... well because I can really. I assume it will be a fun little documentation.
And for those of you who can't fit a 750 pixel high image on your screen, consider this resolution Darwinism. |
